Sue Hough, Founder
Sue’s career in high-end construction gave her a deep understanding of what goes into creating a home that feels exceptional, not just in how it looks, but in how it lives. Years of designing, building, and working closely with homeowners ultimately shaped the standards and philosophy behind Moody Moon Ridge. Being a mother has always influenced the way Sue thinks about home and community. She first fell in love with East Tennessee on a vacation with her three daughters. For her, the best places create opportunities to gather, explore, slow down, and make memories that last well beyond the walls of a house.
Another inspiration of Sue's is the time during COVID that changed the way many people thought about home, space, and connection. It reinforced Sue’s belief that people need places where they can enjoy privacy and nature while still having meaningful opportunities to gather, connect, and feel part of something bigger. Moody Moon Ridge brought all of these experiences and ideas together. Sue envisioned a community where exceptional homes, expansive land, thoughtful amenities, and the natural beauty of the Smokies could coexist and where the experience of living there would be just as important as the home itself.
